AIMS

1. To provide every learner of a second language with further opportunities for extending their knowledge and experience of the cultures of other people as well as opportunities for personal and intellectual development, further studies, pleasure and work in English medium.
2. To enable every learner to prepare for the changing socio-economic demands resulting from advances in information technology; these demand include the interpretation, use and production of materials for pleasure, study and work in the English medium.

OBJECTIVES

1. Practise diversified teaching strategies to cultivate students’ character and generic skills.
2. Strengthen the connection between different subjects and enhance the effectiveness of cross-curriculum teaching and learning.
3. Promote reading for the sake of empowering students to build knowledge and explore topics of interest to them by reading independently.
4. Promote Values Education in the school-based English Language Curriculum to foster students’ positive values and attitudes.
5. Integrate National Security Education into the school-based English Language Curriculum to deepen students’ understanding of China and strengthen their sense of national identity.
